EDGE Files Demands in Mass Arbitration against Nixplay for Bait-and-Switch Advertising Practices

Published on: January 13th, 2026

EDGE filed a set of arbitration demands today against Nixplay, Inc. and Creedon Technologies USA, LLC (“Nixplay”) on behalf of a large group of consumers in a mass arbitration before the American Arbitration Association. The claimants allege that Nixplay engaged in bait-and-switch advertising of its digital photo frames.

As set forth in the arbitration demands, Nixplay advertised that its digital photo frames included unlimited photo cloud storage, five gigabytes of video cloud storage, and integration with Google Photos and Dropbox with “no subscription necessary.” Claimants purchased Nixplay frames with the expectation those features were included with their frames at no additional cost.

But according to the arbitration demands, in March 2025, Nixplay announced that it was removing those features and restricting users’ access to previously uploaded photos and videos unless they agreed to pay a recurring subscription fee. The demands assert claims under California consumer protection laws and for breach of contract.
